What is Pipe Relining?

Pipe relining involves placing a new pipe within a damaged one. Either air or water pressure is used to mould the new lining tightly against the existing pipe walls. This method reinforces the old pipe without any digging.

How Long Does Pipe Relining Last?

The liner material, similar to glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), is durable and robust. When the liner hardens, it creates a sturdy new pipe that is only 6% smaller in diameter – but much stronger – than the original. This method provides long-lasting results.

Why Choose Relining for Your Pipes?

We recognise how a fault with drainage, blocked toilets or broken pipes can be catastrophic when running a business.

Relining is an ideal solution for blocked or damaged pipes in businesses or homes. It is quick, cost-effective and causes minimal inconvenience. The process is suitable for sewers, drains, and vertical downpipes, and the products used are resistant to aggressive chemicals and high temperatures.

Whether you’re a property manager, local authority, or homeowner, pipe relining ensures a reliable fix without the need for expensive, disruptive digging.

Our Pipe Relining Process

All of our pipe relining and drain repair methods are carefully followed through to provide the best service available. We start with a CCTV survey to assess the condition of your pipes, allowing us to identify the best relining method. Depending on your specific needs, we will recommend the most suitable liner. We offer different options:

  • Flex liners for pipes with lots of bends, ensuring a smooth, seamless fit.
  • Invert liners for long straight runs that form a new structural pipe.
  • Drag liners for shorter sections, pulled through the damaged pipe.

After installation, we will conduct a final CCTV survey to ensure the liner is perfectly in position.

Pipe Relining Equipment

We use the latest industry-leading equipment to guarantee a reliable, durable finish. For jobs where tree roots have intruded, we use the Picote Maxi Miller machine to clear the path before lining. Our modern, cost-effective methods ensure your pipes are restored to optimal condition without compromising on quality. A full technical specification of the products we use is available upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pipe Relining

How can I tell if my pipes need relining?

Typical signs that your pipes may require relining include recurring blockages, slow drainage, bad smells, and noticeable cracks. If you think there’s an issue, a CCTV inspection can accurately assess the condition of your pipes.

How do you know if pipe relining is the right choice?

We start every project by conducting a detailed CCTV survey of the pipes. This allows us to determine the best relining method and whether pipe relining is the most suitable option for your drainage issue.

Can relining be used to fix pipes with bends or curves?

Yes, pipe relining is highly effective for pipes with bends or curves. Flex liners are used for these sections, ensuring the new lining fits perfectly to the shape of the existing pipe.

How long does pipe relining take to complete?

The relining process itself is typically quick, depending on the length and condition of the pipes. Most jobs are completed within a day, and the newly lined pipe is ready for use within hours of installation.

How long will the relined pipe last?

Relined pipes are extremely durable, often lasting up to 50 years. The material used is similar to glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), making it stronger and more reliable than the original pipe.
