As a drainage company, we see lots of things that people flush away that should never be flushed down the toilet, but disposed of properly.
What Shouldn’t You Flush Down the Toilet?
Toilet “unflushables” we see on a regular basis:
- Baby wipes
- Make-up removal wipes
- Sanitary wear
- Earbuds
- Incontinence pads
- Toilet fresheners
All of these items can potentially cause blockages to your drainage system. This, in turn, will need clearing and comes with a cost.
Don’t Flush it, Bin it!
“Don’t flush it, bin it” is what we suggest to customers after we have visited and unblocked their drains.
Kitchen Sink Sins
Drain blockages also happen when people wash things down the kitchen sink. We regularly unblock kitchen sinks and drains blocked from:
- Fat washed off baking trays and saucepans
- Coffee grounds
- Scraps washed from plates
- Leftover sauces from the Sunday roast
Don’t Rinse It, Bin It!
If you need to use a fork to push it down the plug hole, it is meant for the bin.
